The artist René Mäkelä wanted to pay his personal tributeas he knows best, creating a spectacular piece of art. And he did it, in oil oncanvas, but with a meticulous palette technique that took him months of workbut whose result is astonishing.

I have painted forgreat world sports stars and, also, great icons who have inspired me, butwithout a doubt this is one of my favorite works because it comes from thedepths of inspiration. Despite being claimed by numerous collectors, I havepreferred to wait to exhibit it first in the best possible place: in thecountry where the Black Mamba grew up and in front of thousands of basketballlovers. There are many athletes who amaze with their talent but very few, likeKobe, manage to leave an eternal mark.”
