René Mäkelä has a predilection for the figure of Michael
Jordan, whom he considers “hypnotic and immense.” Immense like this work, both
in quality and size, a large-format piece that condenses part of the life of a
unique athlete, considered by many to be the best among the best.
It is not the first time that René
reflects the myth in oil on canvas. He already did it previously at the express
request of NFL star Cam Newton, an admirer of Jordan and René's work, however
